5 tech start-ups in Belfast to watch out for

As technology continues to thrive and more revolutionary opportunities are coming to the surface, new technology start-ups are introduced to further progress technological capabilities. Many of these companies are doing great work and are trying to gain more exposure to grow and advance.

Today, I will be plugging 5 tech start-ups that are making waves in the technology world. From brain health research to non-invasive neurostimulation products, these 5 start-ups are keen to be the next unicorn.

 

BrainWaveBank

 

 

 

BrainWaveBank is a brain health research company. Its mission is to transform how cognitive illness is diagnosed and treated so that people can live longer, healthier and more connected lives. They have successfully created a wearable that works in conjunction with a user’s smartphone monitoring brain activity and they have raised £1m so far in seed funding from the Angel CoFund and TechstartNI.

Machine Eye

  

Machine Eye has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) safety system for tractors, plants and heavy machinery that recognises human behaviour and movement around the machine and takes control of the machine to pre-emptively isolate or halt the machine to prevent accidental contact of by-standers with the machine. Brendan Digney is the force behind this start up, which he states started out as a research project by a group of electrical and electronic engineers in Queen’s University Belfast.

Neurovalens

They are a global health-tech company that creates non-invasive neurostimulation products used to solve some of the world’s greatest health challenges. Modius is the first product from Neurovalens that successfully launched in August 2017 on Indiegogo. Since being founded, they have won numerous awards including: Best New Concept of Innovation at the Yahoo Sports Technology Awards 2018 and the CES Innovation Award 2018.
