Examinations Engineer / Supervisor

Opportunity for an Examinations Engineer / Supervisor who will be responsible for the detailed examination and visual inspection programme of all company assets, ensuring that comprehensive reports are provided to show their condition and to inform maintenance requirements. You will be responsible for providing information to aid both maintenance and capital awork schemes ensuring the safety and maintaining operational performance.

As an Examinations Engineer your new role will include but not be limited to the following:

• Examination, inspection and evaluation of key Off-Track assets, including level crossings, access points, boundaries, vegetation and signage.
• Supervision of staff carrying out works, allocating workloads, and reviewing the establishment of safe systems of work.
• Providing detailed reports on condition of the assets to inform the annual maintenance requirement and capital works.
• Collection and prioritisation of all defects. Compiling and closing out work orders.
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding planned works and inspections.
• Liaising with neighbours and statutory agencies regarding complaints relating to Off-Track assets
• Carry out quality checks of works completed, and safety inspections of contractors and staff involved.
• Adhering to RAMS and working instructions for all Off-Track works and inspections

Essential experience should include the following:

• Experience of applying health, safety and environmental legislation requirements.
• Experience of interpreting and working to engineering standards.
• Experience in asset condition inspection, workload prioritisation and technical specification
• Ability to maintain accurate inspection records and produce reports and project documentation.
• Possess a minimum of an HND/HNC (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant engineering or construction discipline
• At least 3 years relevant experience in a practical engineering environment working with plant, labour and materials to undertake inspections, engineering and/or construction work
