GIS Technician (Utilities)

As a GIS Technician you will play a key role in the capture and provision of GIS data and mapping information for various water/utility projects throughout the UK. Based in their Livingston office, you will be joining a leader in their field, with the opportunity to commence your GIS career, or enhance your existing experience with further opportunities.

Our Client is a specialist sub-contractor, who specialises in no-dig engineering services, pipeline investigation and repair in the utility sector. Due to major contract awards in Scotland, they are looking to add a GIS Technician to their team in Livingston.

As GIS Technician your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

• To produce:
  • client reports, including surveys, pipe fault coding, recommendations.
  • validation reports.
• To assist Project Manager on contracts or projects.
• To support all staff and business processes, with the correct technical advice, with respect to planning and executing on the ground operations.
• To assist in creating and maintaining GIS networks, producing maps, validating survey information, delivery of documentation to Client.

To be considered for this role you will have:

• Third level qualification in a related discipline, such as Geography, GIS, Environmental Engineering or similar.
• Experience working in the construction industry, to include knowledge of underground utilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
