Industrial Engineer – Production and Manufacturing

As an Industrial Engineer, you will join a leading name in the design, manufacture and installation of façade and glazing on state of the art Commercial and Residential Projects throughout the UK. Based in Portadown, they have recently extended and moved to new premises, where new production lines are fully operational.

As an Industrial Engineer you will be responsible for the co-ordination of improvement activities within Operations. You will implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing methodologies within the Production environment and provide leadership within improvement projects using established company methodologies in response to identified performance gaps.

The Industrial Engineer will undertake the following duties:

• Analyse and report on equipment efficiency and lead improvement projects.
• Support, train and mentor Operations to help provide accurate Production, Machining and Stores process times.
• Coach and mentor employees on Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques, focused on zero shortages, improved flow and efficiency.
• Ensure new and existing processes and procedures are sustained.
• Investigate equipment options to increase process improvement and automation, and manage projects for implementation of the same.
• Assist in the implementation of an ERP system.
• Work with equipment suppliers and factory management to introduce and manage preventative maintenance campaigns.

To be considered for this role you will have:

• A Degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline is preferred.
• 5 years’ manufacturing experience gained in a similar role.
• Experience in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

It would be desirable if candidates had any of the following:

• Masters Degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or above.
• Experience in materials movement automation.
• Experience in aluminium/glass fabrication.
• Experience in Project Management.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
