Senior Electrical Design Engineer

As Senior Electrical Design Engineer you will be joining a leading consultancy delivering Design and Project Management Services within Water and Wastewater, Health, Property Development and other Local Government frameworks. You will join a multidisciplinary team working on a variety of Water / Wastewater projects, and leading in the delivery of MEICA aspects of current projects, undertake design, specification and tender preparation, carry out site asset surveys.

WPR are working alongside our Client, who is a leading development and infrastructure organisation, that requires an Electrical Design Engineer to join their Design Team, delivering varying infrastructure projects, including utilities, wastewater treatment, pumping, water supply, treatment and transfer systems and building services. LOCATION: Can be based anywhere in Ireland, with travel to sites throughout Ireland when required.

As Senior Electrical Design Engineer your responsibilities are:

• Representing clients throughout the planning, design, procurement, construction and commissioning of projects.
• Preparation of feasibility studies, option appraisals, end to end design reviews.
• Experience in attending site to review electrical inspection reports, panel designs and O&M manuals.
• Experience with electrical projects and programmes, including electrical upgrades and inspection of assets.
• Attending design and progress meetings, coordinating with stakeholders and attendance of both SAT and FAT tests as required.
• Working to meet Health and Safety and overall project quality objectives.

What we are looking for:

• Degree qualified Electrical Engineer, Chartered, or working towards Chartered Engineer status with IEE.
• Over 7 years’ postgraduate experience.
• Understanding of electrical design within the water industry.
• Health and Safety, DSEAR and HAZOP requirements.
• MS Office proficient.
• A full driving licence.

Highly desirable key skills:

• Telemetry and SCADA data acquisition systems.
• Pump control using PID control of VSD’s.
• HV, pumping, power generation and CHP.
• Water and waste water process design and MEICA inputs.
