Fire Safety Engineer

Opportunity for a Fire Safety Engineer for a Client based role based in Ireland, based partially on site and  local client office (closest to you). You will report directly to the Senior Asset Planning Engineer in the Asset Planning Maintenance Planning Team.

You will be responsible for:

• Work closely with Senior Asset Planning Engineer for the prioritisation and identification of Sites for fire safety systems.
• Be able to conduct fire risk assessment surveys on existing process site buildings, with regard to their existing fire safety systems, and identify deficiencies with Building Regulations compliance for fire safety systems.
• Be able to review a fire risk assessment survey carried out by others, and devise a fire safety strategy for that building to bring it up to Building Regulations compliance standard, and other statutory legislation standards, with respect to fire safety.
• Scoping out the requirements for the remediation works to a building to bring it up to Building Regulations compliance standards, and other statutory legislation standards, with respect to fire safety.
• Be competent in the BCAR process.
• Be competent in fire prevention, fire detection, fire suppression and fire safety training.
• Be competent in auditing completed fire safety systems remedial works on site.
• Play a key role in stakeholder management with internal and external stakeholders.
• Performing other such duties in relation to work and asset management as Uisce Éireann may require.

Desired experience:

• Relevant engineering or scientific qualifications to degree level, or relevant Fire Safety Qualifications.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in Fire Safety systems, planning, design, and statutory compliance of fire safety systems.
• Experience in sign off of Fire Safety Systems to show statutory compliance with building Regulations and Fire Certificates, BCAR etc.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and statutory compliance with respect to fire safety systems and legalisation.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.

You will also have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work within a team at all times.
