Senior Quantity Surveyor Construction Projects

As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will join a successful Public Body team to provide cost and contract management services to support construction project planning and delivery for projects in Belfast and Northern Ireland.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will also develop and maintain templates for construction works and services, procurement and contract management, prepare and assure budget cost estimates and whole life costs.  Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will work closely with and support project teams in managing cost/value and resolution of contractual disputes.

As Quantity Surveyor your new role will also include but not be limited to the following:

• Advise and assist project teams with development of project procurement and contracting strategies.
• Coordinate and undertake procurement of professional service, supply and works contracts.
• Assure tender documents for construction works and services contracts and ensure that all contracts are properly executed as well as records and data managed effectively.
• Ensure valuations are being adequately checked and approved with payments being made promptly.
• Undertake sufficient checking and auditing to provide assurance on compliance with approved cost, value and contract management systems and procedures.

To be considered for this role you will have a minimum of a Quantity Surveying or other relevant Construction Management Degree, as well as possessing Chartered Surveyor status or eligible for enrolment for Chartered Surveyor APC with RICS or ICES.

Essential experience should also include the following:

• Experience of cost estimation and cost planning for construction contracts.
• Experience in preparing tender/contract documents for construction works contracts.
• Experience in pricing or tender cost analysis.
• Experience in measurement and valuation of works.
• Experience in contract management and administration.
• Experience in measurement and valuation of works.

It would be desirable if you possess experience in any of the following: Risk, Value or Dispute management, NEC3 Contracts or railway infrastructure costs.
